Types of LCD Damage (TLCDD)

Type of Damage 

  1. Pixel (Dot) Defect (Bright Dot/Dark Dot)
  2. Line Defect (Vertical, Horizontal, cross)
  3. Block Defect (Gate Block, Data Block)

1. Pixel (Dot) Defect

  • Bright Dot is a bright Dot/Pixel when the screen is permanently dark.
  • Black/dark Dot is a black/dark Dot/pixel when the screen is in a constant bright condition.

2. Line Defect

  • Vertical Line Defect
  • Horizontal Line Defect
  • Cross Line Defect

3. Block Defect

  • Data Block Defect
  • Gate Block Defect

Conclusion

  • The damage is in the Inverter Unit and Backlight
  • When a problem occurs in the Backlight section of the AQUOS LCD TV, it will experience "Protect" (the TV will turn on for a moment then turn off and return to standby position).
  • Usually some of the fluorescent lamps are dead, check the transformer (in the inverter unit) on the part of the lamp that is dead.
  • In some cases physically, the transformer appears to be burned. If the Inverter is OK, check the Fluorescent lights.
