How CPA Network Works (HCNW)

HCNW:    GAEXE ARMY

While the month is full of blessings, I want to share a little bit of CPA business knowledge that I have been studying lately. I am not a master, my earnings are not much and I am still green in online business.. but hopefully this knowledge will be a blessing and good karma for me. 😃

1. What is CPA?

CPA stands for Cost Per Action. In slang, you get $$$ when a visitor takes action. The action can be: enter email/postal code, register on the target site, download the application, join the Facebook app, etc. The amount of $$$ we get depends on the difficulty level of the action. The value of $$ per action ranges from 0.5$ - 50$, seriously!

The CPA Network

Network is an organization that bridges between Advertiser and Publisher (us). Advertiser is the party that needs action. He is the one who will pay us through Network (after deducting commission by Network of course hehe).

The conversation goes something like this:

  • Advertiser: Hey, I need additional members for my online game site.
  • Network: ready boss, how much do you dare to pay per new member?
  • Advertiser: How much? I'll give you $1.8/member.
  • Network: ok boss
  • Advertiser: But, I only want members from the US who are 18 years old and above.
  • Network: as you wish boss.. deal?
  • Advertiser: deal..
  • Network: warnings to publishers, there's a new offer that's HOT blah blah... the payment is $1.4/member (that includes a commission deduction, hehehe)
  • Publishers: ready boss, heading to the scene

CPA Offer

Or in slang: offer. This is what the Network offered to the publisher. In the chat example above, the offer is "list of online game sites". In an offer there are requirements that we must pay attention to before promoting. The requirements are also various: target country, minimum age, type of traffic that is allowed to enter, etc. Be careful, not following these requirements... the risk of not being paid or banned!

CPA Offers are generally of 2 types: Non-Incentivized and Incentivized.

The most dominant is Non-Incentivized, meaning that visitors do not get any kind of 'reward' after action. In contrast, Incentivized offer is visitors get a reward after action. The reward is up to us, usually -> download game crack, game cheat ebook, watch movies online etc.

and so that it's not called a hoax, here's an example of a game offer that pays $1.4/member (non-incentivized) --> http://_www.peerflyoffers.com/offer.php?id=5309

Advertiser

This is the one above, a company that is willing to pay for every action achieved (new member, email, etc.)

Publisher / Affiliate

this is what we say! premium jobless, professional unemployment or whatever 🙂

Affiliate Manager (AM)

This is a Network employee whose job is to help us (publishers) to make money. It's natural, we make a big profit, he also makes a profit, right hehe (remember the commission factor earlier). So, he will share tips/tricks so that we can be even better! That's why a good relationship with AM is important... you can chat with your respective AMs 😃

Besides tips/tricks, it can also be used for:

  • ask about requirement offer
  • payout bump: now this is important.. if your traffic is AMAZING, you can ask AM for a 'pay increase'. For example, in the offer above, you can negotiate.. the payout increases to $1.7/member.. cool right? 🙂

2. Traffic

Traffic is traffic.. For CPA business, not all traffic is allowed. It depends on the requirements of each advertiser. But in general, all traffic is OK as long as it is not SPAMMING. Do you know spamming? For example: broadcast on Facebook, Craiglist, email spamming. You know yourself that white countries are noisy when it comes to SPAM, so CPA Network also takes care of its business.

In general, there are two types of traffic: FREE Traffic and Paid Traffic. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

FREE Traffic

The good thing is it's free.. but usually it takes effort. For example, traffic in this category: SEO (oh yesss!!), Youtube traffic, Forum posting etc. The downside is that we can't filter incoming traffic. For example, the offer above requires a minimum age of 18 years.

BUY traffic (paid traffic)

must have capital to buy traffic, I say! But the good thing is, we can generate traffic quickly and in a targeted manner (eg: can choose the country and minimum age target).

There are so many traffic sellers, here are some famous ones: Adword (have you heard of them? hehe), Facebook Ads, AdCenter, PlentyOfFish, MochiMedia, Traffic Vance, SiteScout, AdBucks, Exoclick ... well well, the further back you go, the less you've heard of them, huh? lol.. that's it, there are still many mysteries of traffic sources that need to be learned.

Types of paid traffic include: PPC (Adword, FB ads), CPM (FB ads, mochi, Media Buying), PPV (pay per view eg: Traffic Vance)

Paid Traffic is a very long topic, it's hard to explain in this post. It will be even more confusing  🙂 . In short, paid traffic is the main weapon if you want to be serious about CPA. 1000$/day is no surprise if you use this type of traffic.

3. Steps to Start a CPA Business

3.1. Join a CPA Network

There are many CPA Networks with their own specializations. Some of the famous ones are: EWA Network (you must have heard of it), Neverblue, AdSimilis, Peerfly, CPAWay, etc.

Before joining, take a look at the offers they offer at hxxp://www._offervault.com . On that site you can browse various networks and their offers. Check the payout of each offer. Different networks can have different payouts, even though the offer is the same.

Joining a network is actually easy  😃 .. as long as you have capital. In principle, the Network likes publishers who are active, aggressive and have a clear plan. Don't just jump in.. look away, don't understand this and that. The AM is busy teaching new publishers hehehe. If you are aggressive and serious, the problem of being contacted by phone and interviewed using foreign language should be no problem, right??? hehehe seriously..

Explain your plan clearly to make money with them. If you want to be effective, convince them that you will use paid traffic to promote CPA offers. And you can!

Or if you're still shy hehehe, look for information on networks that don't require phone interviews... for example Peerfly, CPAWay (?) etc.

3.2. Select the CPA Offer you want to promote

Just ask your AM first.. "Hey uncle AM, which offer is hot right now.. what are the tips and tricks?" If your AM is a novice, he will give you complete information. Let's chat about the best strategy.. what traffic is the most profitable, what kind of banner, which country etc. or if you are embarrassed to ask, adjust it to the blog traffic (if you have a blog).. what offers are the most suitable. For newbies, I suggest promoting freebies like Free iPad, Free iPhone, and other freebies. Who doesn't like freebies? 🙂

3.3. Incoming traffic

Start driving traffic to the CPA landing page. Feel free to use any type of traffic (paid or free). What is clear is that the traffic does not violate the requirements of an offer.

3.4 Optimization / Testing

After traffic comes in, expect a conversion (there is action from visitors = $$). Optimization/testing is an important part of doing CPA business. There are many parameters that affect conversion. Many... for example:

  • Is the CPA offer interesting?
  • Do you think the target visitors will like the offer?
  • Is the copyad (advertising text) / banner ok?
  • Is the landing page attractive enough to encourage action?
  • What time is the offer promoted? For example: why promote CPA dating when people are in the office (08AM - 17PM)
  • Is the promotion on weekends or weekdays?
  • Is the expected action complicated?
  • etc.

Many factors? Testing and Testing..that's the mantra of true CPA marketers. Find the best combination of ads, traffic, hours to promote an offer. For those who play paid traffic, it's important to know the best combination so that the profit is multiplied. We spend so much money, so we have to make a profit of so much++..right? 😃

Well, that's the big picture. Actually, there are still many other things but I'm afraid this post won't be enough. It might even become an e-book later hehehe. But please, if anyone wants to discuss it together.. let's discuss it below. If there is anything unclear, please ask.. I will answer as best I can.

Assalam, welcome everyone.
