Visit to the Coal Mines of East Kalimantan (VCMEK)

One of Indonesia's third-largest bituminous coal mining companies supplies coal to 12 countries worldwide. Established in 1982 as a company specializing in resource development, it operates one of the largest coal mines in Indonesia, located in the Pasir region.

After nearly 10 years of preparation, including mine surveys and validation tests from the early 1980s to the 1990s, the company began mining operations in the Pasir area.

Starting with a commercial production of 3 million tons of bituminous coal in 1993, the accumulated production volume surpassed 200 million tons by May 2010, thanks to continuous infrastructure expansion and system improvements. Currently, the Pasir mine produces 31 million tons of bituminous coal annually.

The company has earned consumer trust by reliably supplying bituminous coal to over 40 consumers across 12 countries, including China, Japan, and Hong Kong.
