The Uniqueness of Sam Poo Kong Lies Here (USPKLH)

Believe it or not, this was my first outing with a girl I loved. At the time, I was staying in a homestay (boarding house) near the West Flood Canal in Semarang.

One day, I received a wedding invitation from one of my Quran study group relatives in Anjasmoro. Meanwhile, I had just started living in Mranggen for about two weeks. That’s when I revved up my old motorbike and headed to the event.

After attending the wedding, I spontaneously suggested to my wife that we shouldn’t rush home. Instead, we decided to explore the nearest tourist destination in the area. Our choice? The Sam Poo Kong temple.

Visiting Sam Poo Kong felt like entering a ritual site. It’s no wonder we were greeted by various scents of incense, as the place is still actively used for worship.
