Let’s go back a little in time! During a period of idleness in our college days, we took advantage of the semester break to explore, not caring much about where we were headed, as long as we ended up in Klaten. No wonder we occasionally got lost in small villages and had to stop several times to check Google Maps.
Umbul Nilo, located in Dusun Margosuka, Daleman Village, Tulung District, Klaten Regency, Central Java, 57482, has a unique appeal due to its affordable entrance fees. The open atmosphere offers a vast view of green fields stretching out in every direction, close to local fish ponds owned by residents. Nearby, there’s also a mosque and small food stalls selling warm, traditional snacks. So, there’s no need to worry about finding food or a place to pray—it’s quite convenient there. Although Umbul Nilo is smaller than Umbul Ponggok, it has its own charm.
Since this spring is connected to the same water source as Ponggok, don’t be surprised if the water here is crystal clear and very cold.
For those who might want to visit Umbul Nilo with family, there’s no need to worry, as it also offers a smaller pool with a depth of less than half a meter, specifically intended for children, though not toddlers. But adults are welcome to swim here too; it's not restricted.
Additionally, there’s a mosque nearby, so Muslims can feel comfortable staying for a full day.
Alright, I won’t go on too long. Feel free to check out our documentation below to get a closer look at our trip to Umbul Nilo. Enjoy watching!
