The Charm of Pawon Temple in Magelang (CPTM)

Hello, Santaiarea friends! My journey in determining anchor points for measuring Borobudur Temple is still ongoing. This time, I am at Pawon Temple, a temple located between Mendut Temple and Borobudur Temple. It is about 1.7 km from Borobudur Temple (to the east) and approximately 1.1 km from Mendut Temple (to the west). As usual, I spent around 4 hours here gathering data.

Pawon Temple stands approximately 4 meters tall. Its architecture is quite varied, featuring natural reliefs such as trees and reliefs of half-human, half-bird creatures.

The area here is not crowded, as the temple is relatively small and located in the middle of a village. It lacks open spaces and other supporting infrastructure. Nonetheless, security and maintenance of this temple are still well-maintained, with several CCTV cameras installed and a guard post on-site.
