So here’s the story: at the time, my workplace was in West Semarang, precisely at IB163 Building, Jl. Imam Bonjol No.163, Pendrikan Kidul, Semarang Tengah District, Semarang City, Central Java 50131.
For the first time in my life, the Almighty God gave me a rare experience: getting to enjoy an impromptu water ride in the heart of Semarang city. Yes, you guessed it—what else could it be but a massive flood!
I never imagined that the main roads and alleys around my office could instantly turn into a rather deep river, reaching up to the knee of an adult. What could I do? Of course, my humble moped couldn’t swim, as it wasn’t blessed with such abilities.
Unfortunately, this “ride” persisted late into the night. Eventually, I grew tired and decided to search for an alternative route to return to my boarding house. Everything was done spontaneously and speculatively, navigating through back streets accompanied by Google Maps until I finally found my way out, arriving at the West Flood Canal Movement Building in Semarang.
