Profile of Mount Sindue (PMS)

Sindue Hill is a highland located in Sindue Subdistrict, Donggala Regency. Sindue lies in the coastal area on the western side of Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. The distance between Sindue Subdistrict and Palu City, the capital of Central Sulawesi Province, is approximately 30 km.

The brief history of the name Sindue originates from an area in Enu Village called Mount Sandu, which was once under the governance of the Magau administration. This governance followed the customary law system, supported by the majority of the population, who were farmers and fishermen. Over time, with the development of the era, Sindue Subdistrict has expanded into three subdistricts:

  1. Sindue Tobata Subdistrict
  2. Sindue Tombusa Bora Subdistrict
  3. Sindue Subdistrict

Geographic Location

According to data from the Agricultural Extension Agency (BPP), Sindue Hill is located at coordinates 0°30'58" - 0°39'21" S and 119°47'19" - 119°57'27" E.

Topography and Climate

Based on surveys conducted by BPP Lero, Sindue Subdistrict has diverse landscapes, including lowlands, hills, and mountains. The lowlands range in elevation from 16 to 176 meters above sea level (m asl) and are generally located along the western coast of Sindue Subdistrict, while the highlands are situated in the eastern part of the subdistrict. Below is the detailed breakdown of the area:

  • Lowlands: Covering 62.05% of the area, with an elevation of 0–100 m asl.
  • Hills: Covering 23.36% of the area, with an elevation of 100–250 m asl.
  • Mountains: Covering 14.59% of the area, with an elevation of 250–500 m asl.
