Hello, Santaiarea friends! Have you ever experienced one of those unexpected twists of fate where it feels like your meticulously planned future gets completely overturned by a divine intervention?
At that time, I had a golden opportunity to join a software house in West Semarang. Everything happened so quickly—starting from the interview process to signing the contract. In fact, it was my first time setting foot in Semarang. After completing the formalities, I was asked to start working immediately. The interview was on Friday, and by Monday, I was already expected to be in the office. Wow!
Hunting for accommodation became my next challenge after finishing the legal and formal processes at my new workplace. With whatever energy I had left, I rushed to find a decent boarding house. I ended up choosing a homestay located on the west side of the Banjir Kanal Barat. Just like in Deny Caknan's lyrics, "Madukoro Belok Kiri Lurus Wae" ("Turn left at Madukoro and keep going straight"), it perfectly described my situation at that time.
West Semarang became a silent witness to the convergence of opportunity and my capabilities, which made my career as an Android Developer shine brighter. Challenge after challenge, I faced them with total dedication.
Long story short, my relationship with the company began to crack, and I decided I wouldn’t renew my contract if it was offered. But as it turned out, God’s plan was exactly what I needed. The company I worked for merged with a well-established company specializing in medical and laboratory equipment. This pivotal moment made me reconsider my initial decision to resign.
Before long, our office moved to East Semarang, near USM (University of Semarang). To my surprise, not only was my salary slightly increased, but we were also provided with an office that felt like a café.
