Hi guys, I’d like to share a story from around five years ago, specifically on November 4, 2015.
Hello, friends of Santaiarea! After completing data collection from the BM points in the Magelang town square, the next step was to establish eight control points for Borobudur Temple, where six points used NAVCOM GPS/GNSS and the rest used a Topcon Total Station.
Working alongside the team from the Borobudur Conservation Center, our leader assigned me the task of collecting data with the GPS/GNSS, while he used the Topcon Total Station. We spent roughly five hours gathering data around the Borobudur Temple area.
While waiting for the data logging process to finish, I made sure to capture this rare moment with the PDA device I had at the time – none other than the Nokia N8.
Guiding Corporate Guests to Borobudur Temple
Hi guys, on another occasion, I had the opportunity to guide corporate guests from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
Borobudur is a phenomenal mystery. Although Indonesia has many temples, Borobudur still holds a myriad of secrets. There are various stories behind Borobudur, one of which comes from Mr. K.H. Fahmi Basya, a national cultural researcher and professor at UIN Jakarta, whose name has become closely associated with Borobudur.
Mr. Fahmi Basya’s interest in researching Borobudur was sparked by the Quran. He found Islamic mathematical concepts in the Quran, one of which was the "286 Pyramid," signifying 286 blocks – exactly matching the number of verses in Surah Al-Baqara. He concluded that the topmost block of Borobudur could be the Alif Lam Mim block. After further calculations, he realized that only the Arupadhatu at Borobudur could represent the 286 pyramid, sparking further research.
He hypothesized that if Borobudur aligned with Islamic mathematics, its builders were likely "People of the Book." After extensive research, he found numerous authentic physical evidences connecting it to the Quran.
Mr. Fahmi Basya started this research in 1979, and his findings shocked the world. It’s understandable why many place names around Borobudur reflect names associated with the Prophet Solomon. For more detailed information on Borobudur according to Mr. K.H. Fahmi Basya, please refer to the original sources.
At that time, I had the opportunity to accompany guests from Banjarmasin on a Yogyakarta tour, with Borobudur Temple as one of the main destinations. This was on March 13, 2015, when the ticket price was still Rp. 30,000. Here’s our documentation:
