Add File Explorer to Notepad++ (AFEN)

AVAILABLE:    5

This post is once again inspired by learning activities during an evening college class. My curiosity arose from my lecturer's editor while teaching a dynamic web course. Their Notepad++ had a kind of file manager sidebar on the far right. It looked so convenient and made accessing files from a complex structure very easy. Out of curiosity, I decided to ask Google before asking the lecturer directly, and my search led me to a blog: imamsyaifulloh.blogspot.co.id. Here's how to do it:

Adding the Light Explorer Plugin to Notepad++

  1. Go to the Plugins menu, then select Plugins Manager and click Show Plugins Manager.
  2. In the Available tab, search for "Light Explorer" and check the checkbox next to it, as shown in the image below.

  3. Click Install and wait for the process to complete.

  4. Once the installation is done, Notepad++ will restart automatically.
  5. To activate the Light Explorer plugin, go to Plugins > Light Explorer and click on Light Explorer, or use the shortcut Alt+A.

The Result

You will now have a file manager/explorer displayed in the sidebar of Notepad++, as shown below.
