Its inventor was John Carcott Horsley, a legendary painter from England, who also organized various winter exhibitions. At that time, he created a Christmas card commissioned by Henry Cole, though it sparked controversy for depicting a child drinking wine. Despite the controversy, his work received much appreciation.
The next generations adopted John Carcott Horsley's methods for expressing "Greetings" for various celebrations, including Christmas, New Year, Birthdays, and religious holidays worldwide. One example is for Muslim religious holidays, as seen in the images above and below.
